Angling Club

The Harleston, Wortwell and District Angling Club owns and manages six well stocked fishing lakes in the Waveney Valley on the Norfolk and Suffolk border, together with some stretches of the River Waveney itself. The lakes - also known as Weybread Pits - offer some of the best fishing around for both beginners and highly experienced anglers who are looking for a challenge. Some of the Pits can be fished on Day or Weekly tickets.

"We have heard about the Town Council's initiative to take a lead locally for Nature Recovery. On behalf of the Harleston, Wortwell and District Angling Club, I would like to add our support.

The Club as anglers we are very aware of the natural world, the need for a healthy environment and its importance for its own sake and for the pleasure it gives people. We do appreciate how important this is."

Nigel Poll,

Secretary and Treasurer, Harleston, Wortwell and District Angling Club
