Volunteers for Nature

Volunteers scythed a section of the graveyard at Redenhall Church as part of 'Nature Recovery in Harleston'. The grass has been allowed to grow to encourage wildlife into this special place - Redenhall churchyard itself is already one of the best places for nature in the Parish.

The local Waveney Volunteers for Nature joined forces with the Norwich group from national The Conservation Volunteers to remove the vegetation, much in the way that farmers harvested the hay crop in the past.

In the Autumn it is hoped to reseed the planned areas with a wide range of native wild flowers and grasses which will encourage butterflies, bees and other insects and to investigate placing a sundial as a feature in the centre of the semi-circle in this contemplative area.
